Application of Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF)

Application Scenario

In organic synthesis and enzyme-catalyzed reactions, rapidly remove small molecule by-products (such as salts and inhibitors) and recover target products (such as peptides and oligonucleotides).

Operation Procedure

Advantages

•     Over 10 times faster than traditional dialysis bag method, and capable of processing large-volume samples up to 500 mL.

•     Avoid the drawbacks of gel filtration chromatography, including high cost of column packing and long processing time.

Precautions

•     Organic solvents may corrode common membrane materials; solvent-resistant PVDF membrane cassettes are recommended.

•     High-concentration products are prone to concentration polarization. It is recommended to pause the system intermittently and stir the feed solution.
